Fault Lines Exposed: Advantage and Disadvantage Across Australia’s Settlement System

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

The research undertaken for Fault Lines Exposed: Advantage and Disadvantage Across Australia’s Settlement System has been made possible largely due to funding made available from the Australian Research Council Discovery project ‘spatially integrated socio-economic analysis: Australia at the new millennium’ and by the provision of data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Without the generous support of these two agencies research such as that presented in this book would most likely never get off the ground. The analysis reported in this book was carried out by Scott Baum as part of the Australian Research Council, Australian Research Fellowship. However, several other people gave valuable assistance throughout the project. During the development of the wider research project several individuals provided invaluable assistance. We would like to thank Dr. Jung Hoon Han, Dr. Michele Haynes and Ms. Yolanda van Gellecum of the University of Queensland Social Research Centre for their assistance with the fine tuning of the methodology and data base construction. We would also like to thank Ms Michelle Dixon for her assistance in editing the final manuscript and helping us come to grips with the formatting requirements. We would also like to thank Ms. Jo Mullins, Ms. Michele Sabto and Ms. Sarah Cannon from Monash University ePress for all their support in the publication of this book. Finally, Scott Baum would like to personally thank Isabella Grace for providing him with the levelling influence (and sleepless nights) a newborn daughter can give.
